2. History of Jagannath Temple, Puri
Jagannath Temple was built in its current form in the 12th century by the Ganga dynasty ruler Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva. It is one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites of India and is especially renowned for the Rath Yatra festival, when the deities are taken through the streets on massive wooden chariots.
