Murudeshwar Temple gained wide recognition following the construction of a very tall Shiva statue in the late 20th century, one of the tallest of its kind, overlooking the Arabian Sea coastline. The temple hill also offers panoramic sea views via an elevator to the top of the adjoining tower.
