Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and sits at an elevation of over 3,500 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas. Legend attributes its establishment to the Pandavas, and the temple has withstood centuries of harsh Himalayan weather, remaining a major pilgrimage destination that opens only for a few months each year due to heavy snowfall.
