2. History of Ramanathaswamy Temple

Ramanathaswamy Temple is linked in legend to Lord Rama, who is said to have worshipped Shiva here after his return from Lanka. It is one of the four Char Dham sites of India and is famed for having the longest corridor of any Hindu temple, lined with hundreds of intricately carved pillars.
